Baselword 2017 Highlights
Now Baselworld 2017 has officially come to a close we take a look at our highlights from Patek Philippe at the worlds most important watch and jewellery show.
Patek Philippe
As always Patek Philippe did not fail to disappoint, the stunning and futuristic booth at Baselworld was truly an amazing sight which showcased their new 2017 Novelties. Here are a few highlights.
Ladies Calatrava Haute Joaillerie
Reference 4899/900G-001
A unique Calatrava from the Haute Joaillerie Collection, this piece is adorned with over 700 diamonds and pink sapphires which are individually hand set by the master-setter. Each piece is different to the next especially as the natural pink mother of pearl is cut from the raw shell and feathers are cut from it by hand. Even the hands are hand-engraved with a feather pattern. A watch that showcases Patek Philippe's know-how and expertise in fine watchmaking incomparible to any other watch house.
Ladies Aquanuat Luce Haute Joaillerie

This ladies Aquanaut is truly breathtaking, at a glance it's beauty is understated but look a little closer and you'll realise that the skill behind is exceptional. The case is set with 40 baguette-cut diamonds, each is uniquely cut to fit next to eachother whilst keeping the natural and iconic shape of the Aquanaut. The dial is a true work of art and altough it looks simple the pattern is infact engraved mother-of-pearl. The effect is created by the individual sections of the dial being applied with laquer and the numerals are then applied over the top. Finished with pearlised-grey textured strap this is a piece not to miss this year.
Grand Complication - Perpetaul Calendar

Patek Philippe's welcomes their newest perpetual calendar into the Grand Complication with the 5320G-001. Its super-stylish vintage and large case diameter (40mm) is sure to make this timepiece a hit with Patek aficionados. They say the design and aesthetics were conceived for eternity and we think they're right, it oozes that classic 50's style and timeless looks that mean this is a piece that can be worn forever.
Complication - Chronograph
Reference 5170P-001
To celebrate this truly iconic chronograph Patek Philippe have introduced the 5170 model in the noble and precious metal platinum, which is identified by a hidden diamond set into the case at 6 o'clock. However it is the dial which is mesmerising as the rich sunburst deep-blue dial (which fades to almost black at the edge) catches the light and is set off by discreet baguette-cut diamonds used as indices. Fitted to a shiny black alligator strap which finishes the watch superbly it is a piece we're looking forward to receiving in-store soon.
Aquanaut Jumbo

This year Patek Philippe marks the 20th Anniversary of the famous Aquanaut collection with an oversized 'Jumbo' version with the 18ct white gold case measuring 42.2mm. The blue embossed black degraded dial suits the sporty and chic image while the midnight blue composite strap enables the timepiece to be worn on both land and sea. Sure to be a hit with collectors and enthusiasts alike, the Aquanaut Jumbo is a fantastic addition to the range.
