Patek Philippe Novelties
Gents Nautilus Perpetual Calendar Ref 5740/1G
For the first time Patek Philippe have produced the legendary Nautilus with a perpetual calendar grand complication. The famous ultra-thin calibre 240 has been excellently matched with the Nautilus meaning the 18ct white gold sports watch has remained extremely thin, and paired with a 60 meter water resistance rating make it a perfect sports watch. The piece has been adorned with Patek’s stunning sunburst blue dial while the subsidiary displays are perfectly colour matched giving the dial a very clean look considering the information that can be read. The 5740/1G has also received an upgrade to the bracelet clasp, it now has been reworked to include the Patek logo and instead of a fold-over safety lock it has pushers either side to release it.
Gents & Ladies Pilots Travel Time Calatrava Ref 5524R & 7234R
In 2015 Patek Philippe surprised the whole of the watch industry with the extraordinary Pilots watch in 18ct white gold. Its styling was, for Patek, very different and had not been seen in any of the modern ranges which made it an instant hit for collectors. This year Patek expands the model with 2 new variants, a new gents 42mm in 18ct rose gold with a brown dial graduating to black and a ladies 37.5mm version with the same styling. The rose gold and brown dial combination is one that Patek Philippe have perfected over the years and gives the watch a slightly more sumptuous look while still offering the wearer a vintage feel.
Gents Annual Calendar Ref 5205G
Arguably one of Patek Philippe’s most ingenious creations was that of the annual calendar, it’s extremely complex and perfectly finished mechanical components mean the owner only has to adjust the date on the timepiece once in a year. This year a new version in has been introduced in 18ct white gold with a lustrous two-tone blue sunburst dial with subtle black gradation also featuring new luminous Dauphine hands. Finished with a shiny black alligator strap this iconic piece exudes class.
Gents Aquanaut Chronograph Ref 5968A
For the last 20 years the Aquanaut range has been known for its sporty, understated and casual styling. With the addition of the sunburst blue 5168G last year Patek has wowed us this year with perhaps the most vibrant timepiece of Baselworld, the Aquanaut Chronograph. For the first time a flyback chronograph movement has been used in this range giving the already rugged model a quirky but very sporty twist. This has been emphasised with the use of orange accents on the dial as well the option to fit a bright orange composite strap instead of the usual black. A 120 meter water resistance rating and stainless steel case means this watch is ready for anything.
